I am recovering from a traumatic accident and I am having trouble tapping my potential at work. Can a life coach help?

Thanks for contacting me with your question about realizing your potential at work after experiencing a traumatic accident. I am sad to hear that you have suffered an accident that is still impacting your life.

My first thought is to ask you what you have done to heal from this experience? Finding the support to release both the physical and emotional impact of your accident is important. Seeing a therapist or counselor who could support you in processing your feelings about this trauma could be helpful. Also, there are many forms of holistic bodywork that can guide you in getting the stuck trauma out of your body. I would be happy to make some referrals if that would be helpful. If you feel you have already worked through these aspects of your healing journey, coaching might be very helpful in moving forward.

Having an experience like a traumatic accident can be an opportunity to reevaluate your life and priorities. You might find yourself questioning your true purpose in life or wondering how you can having more meaning in your life. You have literally been taken out of the ordinariness of your daily life and into a realm which can be both scary and enlightening. You mention that you no longer feel you can tap into your potential at work. Here are some questions for thought:

  • After your accident, how do you feel different about yourself and your life? How does this impact your work?
  • What kinds of thoughts are you having about yourself in relation to your job? We often create self-limiting thoughts particularly after an event that brings up feelings of ear and vulnerability.
  • What is working well for you at work and why?

The coaching process is an opportunity to look deeply at your thoughts and inner beliefs to understand how they are effecting your life. Taking the time to focus on your intentions, discover your strengths and listen to your inner wisdom can shift you life in powerful ways. If you would like to talk more about coaching and see if it might be a fit for you right now, feel free to take advantage of my free 30 minute exploring coaching session by phone. You can set this up by email or give me a call at 503-473-4754.

I want to acknowledge you for being willing to move forward after experiencing a life-changing event. I know that with this inner drive, you will find the resources to to heal and thrive.

In connection,

Savannah
